TV and Internet at the Campsite: what's going on?
What is changing?
Over the coming years, Telenet will gradually switch from traditional cable television (coax) to television delivered over the internet (IPTV).
- Already today, certain additional packages (such as Netflix integration and Play More) and several interactive features are no longer available on older Digibox devices.
- In autumn 2026, more features will disappear from these older devices, including replay TV, pause and recording functions.
- In the longer term, according to the current information, from 2027 onwards, the older Digiboxes, Digicorders and TV viewing via a CI+ card will be phased out completely.
The timing may still change. If everything is currently working to your satisfaction, there is no immediate need to take action. You can wait and switch later if necessary.
What are the available options?
These changes are, of course, not particularly welcome. However, at Park d'heule, we have continuously invested in our network infrastructure. As a result, you have the same television and internet options here as you would in a private home.
Below are some of the main options for watching television:
- Basic cable television (compact signal)
A limited number of channels currently remain available through the cable network. This option is ideal for those who only watch live television and do not require internet access or additional TV features.
Instructions for setting up the compact signal on your television can be found here. - Television via internet (IPTV)
Guests who would like access to all the features they enjoy at home can switch to internet television (IPTV).
Unlike in the past, our cable network is now also open to providers other than Telenet, including Orange Belgium, BASE and Hey.
Good to know: Some providers allow you to temporarily pause your subscription (for example during the winter months if you do not visit the campsite). In certain cases, attractive discounts or promotions are also available when combined with your home TV, mobile phone or internet subscription. - Television via mobile internet (4G/5G)
If you prefer not to have a fixed connection, mobile solutions are also available. Using a mobile hotspot (also known as a MiFi router or dongle — a small device that uses a SIM card), you can create your own Wi-Fi network. Through apps on your smart TV or via Chromecast or Apple TV, you can then watch online streaming services.
One well-known example is TADAAM from Telenet, although other providers may offer similar solutions.
Good to know: Some providers offer special rates for an additional 4G/5G SIM card if you already have a mobile or internet subscription with them at your home address.
The market is still evolving rapidly, and timing or details may change in the future. As always, we will continue to keep you informed as accurately as possible.
